Your jumper is bobbly: brush it when dry with a nylon brush. |

A “scratchy” jumper: put it in a plastic bag and leave
it in the freezer for 3 days. |

Your mohair jumper pills: spray it with hairspray. |

Several solutions for coffee stains:
- Apply warm glycerine to the stain and
rinse. You can also rub the damp stain with soap.
- Use warm water mixed with an egg yolk. Leave for a while and rinse
with warm water.
- Clean with a mixture of water and surgical spirit.
- Use sodium perborate which can also be used to remove tea or fruit
stains. |

Chewing-gum stains: if the stain is recent, apply a plastic bag
filled with ice-cubes. For established stains, remove using a spoon or spatula.
Use a solvent such as trichloroethylene to remove the greasy traces. |

Foundation stains: dab the stain with a cloth soaked in ether until
it has disappeared completely. Wash with soapy water. |

For a garment stained with grass or red fruit juice: Moisten a cloth
with lemon juice and apply to the stain then rinse. |

Lipstick stains: soak the stain in warm glycerine, rub and rinse.
You can also remove lipstick stains by dabbing with a cloth soaked in ether
or butter. In this case, spread the butter over the stain and scrub. Wash
with water and washing powder. |
