The trench coat is a cornerstone of every woman's wardrobe: a coat that combines comfort and elegance. Available in various sizes and colors, the trench coat adapts to all styles! With its design and belt to cinch the waist, it offers a chic and casual silhouette. The origin of the trench coat, this iconic piece of women's wardrobe, dates back to World War I. It was during this moment in history that it had its first hours, as a practical garment for British soldiers. With its belted waist and length suitable for trench conditions, the trench coat was a waterproof gabardine in beige, ideal for withstanding the weather on the battlefield. The buttons and raglan sleeves added a practical finish, and the straight cut allowed freedom of movement, which at that time, was invaluable.

The Jurney of the Women's Trench Coat: From Practical to Essential

It was after the war that the trench coat was adopted in women's wardrobes! With its tailored waist, the trench coat managed to offer a flattering and elegant silhouette to women while remaining practical. Popularized by Hollywood stars like Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe, or Audrey Hepburn, who made the beige trench coat a true star thanks to the iconic final scene of Breakfast At Tiffany's. Nowadays, whether straight or oversized, beige or black, belted (or not), the women's trench coat is more than just a coat: it's a must-have in our wardrobes.

The Women's Trench Coat

The trench coat has seen a thousand and one designs. While the straight beige trench coat was a revolution, the black trench coat was a great success, allowing for an even more sophisticated look. At the same time, its straight cut became oversized for a casual look! Who would have thought? Over the years, the leading fashion houses have reinterpreted this piece, offering original trench coats in different colors and materials, from cotton to leather, mixed wool, with or without epaulets, and why not, with a hood?

Choosing My Women's Trench Coat According to My Look

Are you more femme fatale or working girl? How to choose the right trench coat? Whether it's a leather or mixed wool women's trench coat, it's important to consider the color, style, and size, depending on the look you want to create! On Caroll.fr, it only takes a click to have your dream trench coat delivered to your door. For an elegant look, the straight women's trench coat worn with the belt is ideal. The belt emphasizes the waist and instantly brings a terribly classy silhouette. For a more casual and trendy look, opt for an oversized trench coat, worn with a beige or white top, and a pair of sneakers. For an original style, prefer a version with raglan sleeves and epaulets. For a working-girl silhouette, choose the straight, beige trench coat worn over black jeans.

The Collar of the Women's Trench Coat

The collar of the trench coat is a detail not to be overlooked! A trench coat with a straight collar will instantly add a more refined touch to your style, while a trench coat with a hood will offer a more casual look.

When to Wear the Trench Coat?

Throughout the Seasons

The trench coat is ideal for transitional seasons like spring and autumn: this coat acts as a barrier against gusts of wind and light showers while maintaining an elegant look! But don't overlook its potential in winter or summer: worn over a warm sweater or a short-sleeved top. As you've understood, trench coats can adapt to all seasons.

At Work

For those who work in a formal environment, the trench coat is a safe and elegant choice to make a sensation as soon as you enter your office! Plus, the belt of the trench coat allows for perfect adjustment, adding a touch of sophistication to your outfit.

For Formal Occasions
